Please note that the Professional Spa exhibition at ExCeL will be postponed, and will next take place in spring 2010 at ExCeL.

Importantly, the Professional Beauty exhibition will still take place as planned on 1-3 March 2009, at ExCeL. Also, the Professional Spa Conference is unaffected, and will take place within the Professional Beauty exhibition on 1-3 March.

Emap remains fully committed to the professional spa industry, and has taken this decision in light of the current economic conditions, which have led to many planned spa projects being deferred until 2010.

Professional Spa’s director Catherine Iredale explained, “Due to the impact of the economic downturn on spa building projects, a number of planned spa investments are affected. This has an understandable and direct impact on the suppliers to the spa market, the exhibitors. However, spa market recovery is undoubted and the Professional Spa exhibition will return as scheduled in the spring of 2010.”

Catherine and her team will continue to work closely with their Spa Advisory Board, including Jean Oliver, Berni Hawkins, Geraldine Howard, Fran Hayter and Cathy Ball to deliver the Professional Spa Conference, taking place as scheduled in 2009, and the show itself beyond.

The Professional Spa Conference is booking strongly, boasting speakers from all over the world including Debrah Dhugga, Director of Retail & Spa, GHD, Anne McCall Wilson, VP Spas, Fairmont Raffles Hotels, Richard Dusseau, Spatality’s CEO, Andrew Stembridge, MD of Chewton Glen, Elizabeth Randall, Director at STR Global, Andrew Gibson, Group Director, Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and George Tavelis, Director of The Retreat at Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus.
